In today’s Buyer’s Guide we’re going in-depth with chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, and a variety of trailers. Chatterbaits and Spinnerbaits are both giant bait categories worthy of individual videos but today we’re rolling them into one knowledge-packed buyer’s guide.

When it comes to bladed jigs the most important factor is how quickly the bait begins to vibrate. Often the difference between success and failure on a cast takes place in the first moments when your bait lands beside its intended target. If the bait is working instantly, you’ll catch the fish, if not, its out of the strike zone before the blade even begins to wobble. Of course, weight, color, and profile are all important, but none of that matters if the bait isn’t functioning when it passes in front of the fish.

With spinnerbaits its all about drawing a reaction strike. While large blades can draw vicious strikes in murky water, many anglers overlook the advantages of smaller, more subtle blades. In today’s video we explore the best of both worlds to help you dial in you spinnerbait selection.

Buyer's Guide: Best Jerkbaits For Bass Fishing

In today’s Buyer’s Guide we’re looking at the best jerkbaits for catching bass throughout the year. Whether you’re looking for a subtle jerkbait for cold water fishing or an aggressive jerkbait for the Spring and Fall bites, we’ve got you covered. Understanding the differences between jerkbaits and when to throw each style will make all the difference!

The jerkbait, also known as a rip bait, is one of the best lures to trigger a feed response in a bass. The combination of aggressive movement followed by suspension is more than most bass can resist! In the cooler months, a bait that will perfectly suspend is the key. As water temperatures drop its important to let the bait pause for long periods of time between jerks of the rod. In warmer temperatures the pauses are much shorter so balance becomes less important. During these warmer periods, baits that give off maximum flash and vibration are the key to standing out amongst the baitfish.

It doesn’t matter if you’re just getting in to jerkbait fishing or you’re a seasoned pro, these are the baits that will help you maximize your time on the water. Chatterbaits and Spinnerbaits are both giant bait categories worthy of individual videos but today we’re rolling them into one knowledge-packed buyer’s guide.

When it comes to bladed jigs the most important factor is how quickly the bait begins to vibrate. Often the difference between success and failure on a cast takes place in the first moments when your bait lands beside its intended target. If the bait is working instantly, you’ll catch the fish, if not, its out of the strike zone before the blade even begins to wobble. Of course, weight, color, and profile are all important, but none of that matters if the bait isn’t functioning when it passes in front of the fish.

With spinnerbaits its all about drawing a reaction strike. While large blades can draw vicious strikes in murky water, many anglers overlook the advantages of smaller, more subtle blades. In today’s video we explore the best of both worlds to help you dial in you spinnerbait selection.

In today’s Buyer’s Guide we’re looking at the best jerkbaits for catching bass throughout the year. Whether you’re looking for a subtle jerkbait for cold water fishing or an aggressive jerkbait for the Spring and Fall bites, we’ve got you covered. Understanding the differences between jerkbaits and when to throw each style will make all the difference!

The jerkbait, also known as a rip bait, is one of the best lures to trigger a feed response in a bass. The combination of aggressive movement followed by suspension is more than most bass can resist! In the cooler months, a bait that will perfectly suspend is the key. As water temperatures drop its important to let the bait pause for long periods of time between jerks of the rod. In warmer temperatures the pauses are much shorter so balance becomes less important. During these warmer periods, baits that give off maximum flash and vibration are the key to standing out amongst the baitfish.

Today’s Buyer’s guide is all about the reaction bite. In an effort to pack in as much information as possible, we’ve combined two of the largest crankbait categories into our final buyer’s guide of the season. We’re looking at shallow crankbaits for triggering a reaction bite, then switching gears to lipless crankbaits and exploring the best baits for fishing shallow grass flats, the best baits for deep water applications, and everything in between.

Choosing the right crankbait is a combination of 3 variables. First, do you want sound? Second, how large are the baitfish or crawfish you’re imitating?
