Buyer’s Guide: Best $200 Rod and Reel Combos!

This Buyer’s Guide is about finding the best value. $100 rods and $100 reels are a huge leap up from their $50 counterparts! The “bang for the buck” that is gained, far exceeds the dollars spent. $200 combos offer increased sensitivity, better components, and the ability to branch into technique specific models. Come along as we explore some of the best $200 combos on the market!

This category really comes down to 3 series of rods. If you’re willing to spend a few dollars more, a 4th series becomes an option as well. At this price its not just about increased sensitivity in the rods, there are also some real upgrades in the reels. The Shimano SLX is by far the stand out reel in this category, offering excellent functionality at an affordable price.

Below you’ll find links to the different lines of rods discussed in the video, along with our favorite models from each line. Additionally we’ve included the reels we recommend pairing them with. The links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you’ll see detailed photos and descriptions of each item. Finally, we’ve included a link to yesterday’s “$100 Buyer’s Guide” and some insights into the next couple videos as we continue through the buyer’s guide series.

3 Jig Fishing Tricks To Catch Bigger Bass This Summer! Beginner To Advanced!

Summer jig fishing is a great way to catch big bass! In today’s video Matt starts off by simplifying jig fishing for the angler that just wants to build confidence in the technique. He demonstrates jig retrieves before diving in depth into how to adapt your jigs to changing conditions, how to stroke a jig, and how to adapt trailers for Summer bass fishing.

Jig fishing is one of those techniques you can dive as deep into as you want. It can be as simple as a single jig in a great color that you use effectively throughout the year or it can be taken to a whole different level. It can also be taken to the max with different styles, colors, and retrieves. Stroking is a prime example of how a jig can be adapted to get bigger bites. In today’s video Matt explains how to stroke a jig then takes it a step further and shows a simpler way to adapt the technique when fishing flats.

Its up to you to decide how in depth you want to take your jig fishing. Below is a breakdown of the baits, trailers, and colors Matt discussed in the video. He also included the jig combo he was using as well as a few alternatives at different price points. What Gear Do We Really Use? Take A Look! (Cross Country Road Trip)

Ever wonder what we’ve really got in the boat? What lures are we actually carrying below deck? Which Covid slowing down we decided to drive all the way across the country to fish and spend time with family. We loaded the boats with everything we thought we’d need (tools, gear, and a variety of tackle) and set out on a national road trip with the families. Today Tim is opening up all the lockers and showing you what gear really made the cut. Which baits and what gear did he consider “must haves” for fishing in multiple states.

Its hard enough to choose what to throw first when you go out on the lake. Try to imagine packing to fish dozens of lakes you’ve never seen before. Even harder, some are in the South (Summer heat) and others are up North (clear water and prespawn). As overwhelming as that may be, we’ve done it a few times now and are very confident in our gear selection. We wanted to share with you what made the cut and what didn’t.

We can make countless videos about specific baits and techniques but there is something about taking a look under the locker lids for yourself that is very satisfying. Now how can you apply this to your fishing? The gear that we carry cross country can be downsized into just a box or two for fishing on your local lake. Where we might carry a box of spinnerbaits, a box of lipless, a box of deep cranks, you can turn around and build a box with a spinnerbait, a chatterbait, a lipless, a small glide bait, etc… and on a smaller scale you’re now prepared for any situation you can face on the water.

Below is a breakdown of our top lures from each category. We’ve also included a handful of rod recommendations that are “do alls”, those select rods that seem to be able to throw a variety of different baits, allowing us to save time, money, and space on the boat. The links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Spring Bass Fishing Gear Review – Top New Baits and Rods For 2020!

A TON of awesome new baits and gear have already hit the market this Spring! Between the Bassmaster Classic and the start of prime fishing season across the south, the influx of new offerings is crazy! Today we’re wading through the new gear in search of the best of the best. We’ve tried a huge variety of baits and gear and compiled a short list of items that are worth taking a serious look at.

Today’s video is focused around baits and equipment that will have a tangible impact on your fishing. From the Hog Farmer Flex Rigs and their ability to draw drastically more strikes than stiffer rigs, to the Quiver worm’s ability to shake and shimmy unlike anything we’ve ever seen before, every item in today’s video has the ability to help you catch more fish. When it comes to rods, we looked at both ends of the spectrum.

Crankbait rods are one of the most difficult selections an angler can make because different sizes and styles of crankbaits require such different equipment to maximize their potential. The Intenza comes in at a budget-friendly price and is probably the most adaptable crankbait rod we’ve used to date. On the higher end of the gear spectrum, both the St. Croix and the Poison Adrena bring incredible sensitivity within reach, and the Twin Power delivers ultra high-end performance at a reduced price.

Below you’ll find a breakdown of all the equipment from today’s video in the order they appeared. We’ve included links that go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see the products in detail. For the baits, we’ve even included color recommendations and rigging advice. We hope you find this gear review helpful!

How essential do you think the line is on a great sea FISHING TACKLE? A line that is just the correct power and weight and is kept in great condition on a sea FISHING TACKLE will assist you immensely in creating sure that you get the fish you are struggling to capture right into your boat.

Remember to put on your life jacket. eighty%25 of all boating fatalities occur to boaters who are not sporting a life jacket. The rivers and lakes in our area are nonetheless extremely cold. Even though the air temperature may be warm, the water temperature is chilly. So be certain to put on your lifestyle jacket!

There are plenty of stocking stuffers for grownups that are helpful, but not badly needed. These items are just for fun. Little items are best, of course. Attempt pocket knives, wallets, scented candles, jewellery, compact mirrors, tools, books, golf balls, fishing deal with, electronic camera memory playing cards, electronic gadgets, photograph frames, music CDs, DVDs, and hair accessories.

The vast majority of Fish Finder retailers might both give training or be in a position to refer you to somebody that can. For the novice who has some extra cash accessible this is a great way to learn a lot in a really brief time.

On your fishing journey itself, just use the appropriate chief and the appropriate direct excess weight on your line when you make your solid. The strength of the chief you ought to use is dependent on the kind of fish you are trying to capture. The same goes for the excess weight of the chief you ought to use. Numerous fishermen use this rule of thumb: the strength of the chief ought to be ten occasions the weight of the lead. So, if you have a thirty-pound leader, your direct ought to be three ounces only.

Compact – A good electronic camera for fishing should be compact. You already have all that FISHIING TACKLE to have about, so it tends to make no sense for your digital camera to be large. I gained’t purchase a camera for fishing unless I can match it in my pocket.

When utilizing circle hooks to goal any species of fish 1 should assure that the hook is large sufficient to maintain the “gap” of the circle hook open as this is what tends to make the circle hook efficient.

If this isn’t your extremely first time going fishing, you undoubtedly already own a fishing rod and reel, but you’ll most likely need to buy some bait as well as some lures. No matter how many lures you owned at the start of the previous period, there is a great chance that you’ve lost your favorites, so a visit to the sporting items aisle at Walmart is most likely required. It is best to shop for fishing lures in an array of colours and designs so you’ll be in a position to experiment when the fish aren’t biting, but if you have some attempted and accurate favorites, make sure to buy some of those before something else.

A few other items that you could put on your important equipment checklist is a maritime thermometer, a lockable snap swivel, and maybe various sorts of live baits and fishing lures. Whatever it is that you have listed has to be the correct equipment for saltwater fishing to make your expedition more fruitful.
