Bank Fishing and Kayaking Small River For Bass and Musky!

This creek is FULL of bass and musky! Come along as we drift a new river in search of anything that will bite! We find smallmouth, largemouth, and GIANT muskie as we kayak through deep pools and shallow riffles. With no expectations and no information we adapt to the changing conditions, catching fish on everything from topwater to crankbaits. We even get the opportunity to throw big baits at some fired up musky!

Today’s video is all about relaxing and having a good time. When we arrived in East Tennessee we knew that river drifting in the kayaks was going to be a great opportunity for all sorts of species and this is our first chance to get out and try it. We anticipated big smallmouth in this stream but we had no idea that 4’ long predators would be lurking in every pool! Thankfully Matt had packed a travel rod and a couple big baits just in case… while he never connected on a musky, he had multiple opportunities throughout the day as fish chased and reacted to his glide bait.

If you’ve never considered travel rods they’re a great option for bringing rods along in tight spaces like the kayak. We use travel rods when traveling out of the country but they’ve proven to be invaluable for last second trips. Because they pack down so small they’re great for keeping in the car, truck, or kayak “just in case”.

Below you’ll find a breakdown of the gear we were using throughout the day including the rods, travel rods, and kayaks. The bait and equipment links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item. The kayak link goes directly to the manufacturer’s website where you can get more information on the Sportsman Series kayak.

The Expanding Difficulties In Significant Problems In Drop Fishing Tips

Now that it’s officially fall, it’s time to begin discussing some fishing tips for when the temperature drops. When the weather gets to be cooler, fishing becomes a small more challenging. This is good although, simply because the fall fishing period has so much much more to provide like much less anglers on the drinking water and hungry fish, to name a few.

If the rod masses up good and you’re certain that you’ve FALL FISHING TIPS got the hook in the fish just battle him to the boat. If you set the hook and it didn’t feel strong you might want to established the hook a second time. The drag on your reel should be established tight sufficient that it doesn’t give on the initial hook set. But it shouldn’t be established so tight that a larger fish can’t take the line if needed.

Because of the crappies minnow-feeding behavior, they are best caught with suspending presentations – whether or not it’s a bobber setup or a minnow lure of some sort. This pattern is especially common in the spring, when the shallow drinking water is warmed by the suns initial spring rays. In the drop, crappies can be situated a bit further. Summed up, your presentation ought to be in the strike-zone at all times. If you’re not sure, a good depth finder can usually choose them out, because they have a tendency to college fairly heavily.

When I’m after deep drinking water fish holding more than construction, I’ll use a six lb test line on a seven foot light action spinning rod. This can have some apparent drawbacks if you hook into a big Striper or Catfish. Been there, done that!

This final point is the most essential. Snapper don’t like to feel tension on a bait. If they consider a bait, they don’t want to have to ‘pull’ it. once a Snapper takes a fish, it will swim off, and the bait will move a small additional into its mouth. It is at this point you want to strike, by flicking the reel from its ‘light drag’ mode to regular drag. This procedure is developed to get a great hook set.

There are many bass fishing suggestions that you should adopt, which will help you get the most out of your fishing journey. Good footwear is essential, as this will not only maintain your feet heat on what might be a cold day, it will also make sure you don’t slip or fall. If you’re on a boat, the final thing you require is not to be able to have a company foothold. Otherwise it maybe a life jacket that you require!

I hope that by using these winter crappie FALL FISHING TIPS you can go out and catch yourself a good “mess” of crappie, just keep in mind to adhere to the sport and fish regulations, slot limits, daily limits, etc. Another factor to keep in mind is to deliver adequate clothes for the temperature, maintaining the wind chill factor in thoughts. You don’t want to be depressing whilst out on the drinking water, and you can usually take off a layer of clothes if you get as well heat. Check the weather forecast prior to you go, pay interest to the wind speed, and dress accordingly.
