Late Winter Fishing: A-Rigs On Chickamauga

Come along as we target late Winter largemouth! We’ve got a variety of baits rigged up and 3 different patterns to run but it doesn’t take long for the A-Rig to stand out from the crowd! Watch how small adjustments make all the difference while targeting these Winter Bass.

If you missed last week’s video on how to rig up A-Rigs for Winter bass, you can see it here: https://youtu.be/-WRXVEUXfg8. In that video we discussed how to modify your rigs to get the most action in cold water. All of those tips were in full force this evening as the bass ate right on the twitches of the rig. It was also interesting to note the fish consistently went for the smaller, softer baits instead of the keitechs we typically throw.

Matt adapted with the changing conditions, dialed in the rig, and was able to catch a handful of quality fish in this quick evening session on the Tennessee River. The different baits he was fishing, along with the rods and reels are all linked in the description below. All of the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

New Boat For 2021!! Aluminum Jet Boat!

Let’s go exploring! This aluminum boat has been Matt’s dream for 3 years! While fast bass boats and advanced technologies are important parts of bass fishing, there is something to be said for a basic aluminum that can run in skinny water, away from the crowds. Come along as Matt shows his new (used) aluminum boat and talks about where TacticalBassin is headed in 2021!

The boat is a War Eagle 1754 With a Yamaha 4 Stroke 70 HP motor. Its going to allow Matt and Tim to explore backwaters, ponds, rivers, and creeks, that could never be explored with the bass boat or even the kayak. They will be able to venture into new areas, reach untouched fish (hopefully) and take you along on all kinds of adventures! Matt is keeping the boat very simple. He’s installing a depth finder and a trolling motor so the guys can fish comfortably, but that will be the extent of the technology.

When its time for advanced videos, the guys will be in their bass boats. When its time to just go fishing and have a good time, they’ll be in the aluminum, and when its time to pick apart places that can’t be reached by either one, they’ll be in the kayaks.

Below you’ll find links to the handful of upgrades Matt is making to the boat, along with some of his favorite tools and equipment that he put into the boat for safety and reliability. All of the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

TWO BIG MUSKY from the Kayak! Southern Musky Fishing!

Today we’re fishing a small river for BIG musky! Muskie live in many of the lakes and streams in Eastern Tennessee and are far less pressured than their Northern cousins. They’ve been on Matt’s radar since his first trip to the region and today he’s on a mission to finally catch one (or two) from the kayak!

Known as the fish of 10,000 casts, the musky can be a very frustrating adversary. However, we know from years of trophy bass fishing with swimbaits that numbers like “10,000 casts” often represent a misunderstanding of the fish. With both bass and musky, once an angler understands their habits and feeding windows the time required to catch a trophy fish can be cut dramatically. They may never become “easy” to catch, but they’ll become much more predictable.

Matt focused his efforts on 3 presentations. He fished a Savage Gear 4-play (swimbait), A R2S Whopper Plopper 190 (Topwater) and a Blue Fox Spinner (Bucktail). He really wanted to catch his first musky on a swimbait after getting short struck on the last river drift with Tim but in the end, all 3 bites came on the bucktail.

Below you’ll find links to all of the available baits and gear Matt was using throughout the day. If you want to catch a musky of your own, some of the items, like the 30″ custom 135 lb Leader, were hand tied by Matt and would need to be fabricated on your own to be replicated. For the rest of the gear, the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Vital Problems In Drop Fishing Tips – Straightforward Ideas

Snapper fishing is popular enough to warrant particular fishing rods and reels, as well as a specific line and hook setup. Not to mentioned the other choices such as soft plastics which I will also appear at.

Consider fishing in smaller bodies of water as opposed to big areas this kind of as lake Champlain, some of the smaller sized ponds and lakes can produce larger fish. Another bass fishing tip is that the truly big fish have a tendency to hang out alone. Rather of fishing near dams or under lily pads, attempt areas that are much more open and have no apparent include. Fish about two hours following the sunlight has set and depart in the early early morning when fishermen usually arrive. Don’t make sound when you are fishing and use the largest bait you can find.

Over the many years, I have put a great quantity of Crappie filets in my freezer. Not only during the spawn, but all times throughout the yr. My favorite times other than the spawn are the Fall and Winter season months. Occasionally if the day heats up after an early morning duck hunt, I’ll head out into the lake and find a college of Crappie hanging above a submerged creek bank or over submerged timber.

Snapper deal with should be reasonably hefty. There is no genuine FALL FISHING TIPS benefit both way for utilizing braid or monofilament line. It arrives down to personal preference.

FALL FISHING TIPS

A good walleye angler creates a very specific sport strategy as he or she goes. But the initial step in that plan is usually the exact same. Find the fish. As soon as you do that, you can begin to believe about how you’ll place them on the finish of your line. That’s for another article.

Don’t forget where you are and where you’re heading. Make certain you dress properly for the cold circumstances. A down parka and thermal pants are a necessary item in order to maintain heat. For your fingers a great pair of gloves ar mitts are known as for and for the ft a warm pair of winter boots. Since you are going to be out on the ice you want to make certain the boots have a sole that will not slip on the ice. You don’t want to drop and harm yourself as you will be far from any medical interest.

Bank Fishing and Kayaking Small River For Bass and Musky!

This creek is FULL of bass and musky! Come along as we drift a new river in search of anything that will bite! We find smallmouth, largemouth, and GIANT muskie as we kayak through deep pools and shallow riffles. With no expectations and no information we adapt to the changing conditions, catching fish on everything from topwater to crankbaits. We even get the opportunity to throw big baits at some fired up musky!

Today’s video is all about relaxing and having a good time. When we arrived in East Tennessee we knew that river drifting in the kayaks was going to be a great opportunity for all sorts of species and this is our first chance to get out and try it. We anticipated big smallmouth in this stream but we had no idea that 4’ long predators would be lurking in every pool! Thankfully Matt had packed a travel rod and a couple big baits just in case… while he never connected on a musky, he had multiple opportunities throughout the day as fish chased and reacted to his glide bait.

If you’ve never considered travel rods they’re a great option for bringing rods along in tight spaces like the kayak. We use travel rods when traveling out of the country but they’ve proven to be invaluable for last second trips. Because they pack down so small they’re great for keeping in the car, truck, or kayak “just in case”.

Below you’ll find a breakdown of the gear we were using throughout the day including the rods, travel rods, and kayaks. The bait and equipment links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item. The kayak link goes directly to the manufacturer’s website where you can get more information on the Sportsman Series kayak.

A Appear At Elementary Goods For Drop Fishing Suggestions

FALL FISHING TIPS

For most of us, making a memorable walleye fishing journey is straight associated to catching fish. Certain it’s good just becoming out on the drinking water. But walleye anglers are on a mission, and if that mission fails it can be difficult to put a good spin on the entire scenario. Rather of operating on that spin, we’d rather work on our mission-creating it successful is a process that starts with discovering the walleye. For this reason the correct electronics can be a walleye angler’s very best friend.

Staying Heat Is Extremely Important – Nothing will ruin a completely great fishing trip like becoming chilly and in the fall becoming cold can be fairly simple. This is why you usually want to have head and hand safety with you on the drinking water in situation they are needed. Carrying a beanie and a pair of fishing gloves with you in the drop of the yr is of the utmost importance. This may be this best of the FALL FISHING TIPS being offered in this article. Most of your physique warmth escapes from your head and keeping your fingers heat keeps the rest of you comfy when the climate turns chilly.

Present Bait Normally – When fishing for trout and using bait (which is a fantastic idea by the way) you want to present your bait in the most all-natural way possible. Remember, large trout get that way for a reason. They have been caught prior to, and have seen nearly something that you toss at them before. For this reason you want your bait to look a much like it does normally as feasible. Gang hooks are the very best way I’ve noticed to accomplish this job, particularly if worms are becoming utilized as bait.

Easier to land the fish: Fishing at lengthy variety is always more uncomfortable and full of danger. However hooking a carp below the rods top gives you far more control. You are straight absent in command. I have on occasions scooped a big lump into the net before it has realised its been hooked. Even if the first rush can be complete blooded and brutal, the amount of line in the water and the reduced opportunity of obtaining snagged indicates that fish are much more frequently than not simpler to land when hooked near in.

Fall Trout Fishing: The drop is the very best (and most overlooked) time of the yr to capture trout. Whilst numerous anglers are considering about soccer and hunting, severe trout fishermen are considering about fishing for trout. This is also the very best period for catching big trout. In my encounter the very best trout fishing bait for most seasons is the good old live worm, and this is particularly true during fall trout fishing. A reside worm rigged on a set of gang hooks and permitted to movement naturally through the present of your preferred trout river is an very effective technique.

Using a hefty excess weight and keeping your line straight, you will be able to drift with the current. Sluggish trolling with a bottom walker is good when boat fishing.

Consider fishing in smaller bodies of drinking water as opposed to large areas this kind of as lake Champlain, some of the smaller ponds and lakes can produce bigger fish. Another bass fishing tip is that the truly big fish have a tendency to hang out alone. Instead of fishing close to dams or under lily pads, try locations that are much more open and have no apparent cover. Fish about two hours after the sun has established and depart in the early morning when fishermen generally get there. Don’t make noise when you are fishing and use the largest bait you can find.

This is the finish of my ninth edition on my fishing tips sequence. I hope so much everybody is discovering helpful suggestions that they can use or save for a later on day.
