Bank Fishing: How To Catch The Biggest Bass Of Your Life!

Fishing from shore is a huge advantage when targeting trophy bass! Many anglers don’t realize how big of a factor “stealth” is when searching for the true giants. Sure, you can’t cover as much water, but the element of surprise far outweighs that minor problem. Today Tim teaches which spots to spend your time on whether you’re on a big lake or a tiny pond.

Shore-based angling gives the angler a variety of advantages. You get different cast angles than boats, access to inside grass lines, backsides of lay downs, and most of all, stealth. There is no engine sound, no sonar ping, nothing to tell the bass their next meal might not be real. The only tricky part is that you have to be around big bass to catch big bass.

The bass will position differently depending on the baitfish they’re hunting. For example, trout/kokanee eaters will be found on long-tapering points, choke points, and funnels. Shad/Panfish eaters will use backwaters and shoreline anomalies. The final keys are time of day, and lure selection. Carolina Rig Tricks! Big Worms And Creature Baits For Bass!

The Carolina Rig is an awesome way to catch big bass! It can be adapted to virtually any fishery if you know what changes to make. From different worms and creature baits, to different hooks and weights, there are a lot of variables to consider. Tim goes in-depth about how and when to fish the Carolina rig and shows all his favorite components in today’s video.

Whether you’re on a Southern impoundment with bass gathering on ledges or on a small Northern fishery fan casting open water, the Carolina Rig has a place in your arsenal. If you don’t know exactly how to set it up it can be incredibly frustrating to cast and even more frustrating to detect a bite. Summer Bass Fishing- Creatures and Crankbaits For Offshore Bass (Matt Loses a 10 LBER!!!)

Summer bass love to move offshore and today we’re going after them! We’re fishing ledges, current breaks, humps, and island tops in search of big bass on Chickamauga. Most anglers focus on the bank because its comfortable and easy to fish what they can see but the vast majority of fish are behind them. Come along for a fun day of fishing and see the kind of bass that live away from the bank in Summer.

Offshore bass can be caught with a variety of techniques. Truthfully, they can be caught on just about anything but there are a few techniques that really shine for this style of fishing. A few that come to mind include small swimbaits, wobble heads, spoons, crankbaits, and big worms. Today the guys focused on fast moving baits. Tim spend most of his time with a lipless crankbait while Matt focused on a swing head jig (wobble head) and occasionally mixed in a deep crank.

While today was a grind, that 10+ lber shows the exact caliber of fish that live on these off shore haunts. If you’re a bank fisherman, focus on the bass that hug the shallow cover and shadow edges but if you’re a boater, take advantage of that offshore bite. Get out of your comfort zone, head out deeper, and you just might connect with the bass of a lifetime!
