Crazy Underwater Footage Big Bass Attacking Bluegill Lures!

Come underwater and watch these bass attacking bluegill! We’re using a variety of bluegill imitating swimbaits and plastic worms to elicit reaction strikes. Early Spring signals the start of the war between bass and bluegill, let us show you how to take advantage of it and catch more bass in today’s underwater video!

Once bass turn their attention to the shallows, bluegill become an immediate threat. Instinctively, bass begin to erratic them from their shallow haunts. Knowing this, we can stay one step ahead of the bass. By imitating bluegill we are able to draw on the bass’ natural aggression and ultimately catch more fish.

Top 5 Baits For Late Winter Bass Fishing!

Its still cold but the fish are getting aggressive! Late Winter is a special time full of big bass and exciting days on the water if you know how to adapt. Sure, you can stick to the same Winter baits you’ve been throwing these past months, but you’re not doing yourself any favors. Its time to adapt, let us show you how.

A lot of anglers get confused about the transitions between late Winter and the prespawn. We’re definitely not in the prespawn yet, water temps are cold (mid-40’s in most of the country and even colder farther North) but the fish can sense the change coming and are beginning to get active despite the cold temperatures. This is the time to set the finesse rods down, pick up the reaction baits, and catch the biggest bass of the year.

We use a handful of very specific baits this time of year. We’ve broken the baits down by style and included some of our favorite models and colors for each category. Late Winter Fishing: A-Rigs On Chickamauga

Come along as we target late Winter largemouth! We’ve got a variety of baits rigged up and 3 different patterns to run but it doesn’t take long for the A-Rig to stand out from the crowd! Watch how small adjustments make all the difference while targeting these Winter Bass.

In that video we discussed how to modify your rigs to get the most action in cold water. All of those tips were in full force this evening as the bass ate right on the twitches of the rig. It was also interesting to note the fish consistently went for the smaller, softer baits instead of the keitechs we typically throw.

Matt adapted with the changing conditions, dialed in the rig, and was able to catch a handful of quality fish in this quick evening session on the Tennessee River. Insane Underwater Footage Fish Attacking Lures And Bass Fishing Tips!

Watch these bass attacking all kinds of lures! They’re ambushing jigs, swimbaits, jerkbaits, and even topwater! We’re studying their behavior to understand what makes them lash out. When we know what causes them to let one lure pass by and then suddenly eat the next, we can adapt our fishing. Studying underwater footage will make you a better angler and let’s face it, watching a giant bass explode on a Whopper Plopper is pretty fun too!

Triggering a feed response is more than just using the right lures, its knowing what it takes to get a fish to feed. Its amazing to see the similarities regardless of the lure. The same hop of a jig that causes the bass to lash out with fool a mid column fish when you twitch the jerkbait. There is something about that break in cadence, that extra twitch or hop, that causes those fish to lash out.

New Boat For 2021!! Aluminum Jet Boat!

Let’s go exploring! This aluminum boat has been Matt’s dream for 3 years! While fast bass boats and advanced technologies are important parts of bass fishing, there is something to be said for a basic aluminum that can run in skinny water, away from the crowds. Come along as Matt shows his new (used) aluminum boat and talks about where TacticalBassin is headed in 2021!

The boat is a War Eagle 1754 With a Yamaha 4 Stroke 70 HP motor. Its going to allow Matt and Tim to explore backwaters, ponds, rivers, and creeks, that could never be explored with the bass boat or even the kayak. They will be able to venture into new areas, reach untouched fish (hopefully) and take you along on all kinds of adventures! Matt is keeping the boat very simple. He’s installing a depth finder and a trolling motor so the guys can fish comfortably, but that will be the extent of the technology.

When its time for advanced videos, the guys will be in their bass boats. When its time to just go fishing and have a good time, they’ll be in the aluminum, and when its time to pick apart places that can’t be reached by either one, they’ll be in the kayaks.

How To Catch Bass In Cold Water Without Slowing Down!

Winter fishing doesn’t have to be boring! So many anglers have fallen into the trap of slow, methodical fishing in the Winter. Did you know you can trigger a feed response by speeding up? Its true! Matt explains the keys to getting consistent bites in the coldest Winter temperatures without ever slowing down.

The key to consistent Winter bites with reaction baits is understanding what it takes to “trigger” a feed response. Its also key to understand all baits are not created equal. Cold water separates the perfectly balanced, perfectly tuned baits, from the endless stream of new tackle hitting the market every year. If you want to be consistent in Winter, fish the right baits with proper technique and its only a matter of time before you start catching quality fish.

There are 3 very different approaches to Winter. You can swimbait for a giant, finesse fish for consistent action, or power fish with bite triggering retrieves to try and find the best of both worlds. Whichever path you choose, Winter fishing is worse the effort. Its incredibly peaceful, there is minimal boat traffic, and the odds of catching a big bass are very high.
