Where Do Bass Go In EARLY Spring? And How To Catch Them Before The PreSpawn!

The Fish are on the move! If your fish haven’t already begun to transition, its coming! If you’re not ready they’ll vanish completely and tracking them down again before the spawn is almost impossible without an understanding of their migration. Where are they headed, where will they stop along the way, and how can you catch them when they do? Come along, and we’ll show you.

Different styles of fisheries progress differently. You need to figure out if you are fishing a river, a Delta, a natural lake, a highland reservoir, or a lowland reservoir. Depending which style you’re on, the movements will vary. Luckily, we’re explaining the movement in each one of these fisheries today. As your fish begin to move, you need to understand their ultimate goal is transition toward spawning flats. With that in mind you can identify the nearest spawning grounds to where your fish have been, then identify the key spots along the way the fish will stop on to feed.

As you’re focusing on fishing the key structures along the migration route there are key baits you should be focusing your time on. Top 5 Baits For Late Winter Bass Fishing!

Its still cold but the fish are getting aggressive! Late Winter is a special time full of big bass and exciting days on the water if you know how to adapt. Sure, you can stick to the same Winter baits you’ve been throwing these past months, but you’re not doing yourself any favors. Its time to adapt, let us show you how.

A lot of anglers get confused about the transitions between late Winter and the prespawn. We’re definitely not in the prespawn yet, water temps are cold (mid-40’s in most of the country and even colder farther North) but the fish can sense the change coming and are beginning to get active despite the cold temperatures. This is the time to set the finesse rods down, pick up the reaction baits, and catch the biggest bass of the year.

We use a handful of very specific baits this time of year. We’ve broken the baits down by style and included some of our favorite models and colors for each category. Which heads work the best, which wire shapes last the longest, and which A-Rigs won’t break when you need them most? Where should you fish with the rig and does that change in Spring and Winter? We’ve done all the hard work, let us show you exactly how we take an A-rig from the package to the mouth of a big bass!

There is no question, the A-rig changed big bass fishing forever! Its not the end all, be all of big bass, but its a great tool and its here to stay. How To Catch Bass In Cold Water Without Slowing Down!

Winter fishing doesn’t have to be boring! So many anglers have fallen into the trap of slow, methodical fishing in the Winter. Did you know you can trigger a feed response by speeding up? Its true! Matt explains the keys to getting consistent bites in the coldest Winter temperatures without ever slowing down.

The key to consistent Winter bites with reaction baits is understanding what it takes to “trigger” a feed response. Its also key to understand all baits are not created equal. Cold water separates the perfectly balanced, perfectly tuned baits, from the endless stream of new tackle hitting the market every year. If you want to be consistent in Winter, fish the right baits with proper technique and its only a matter of time before you start catching quality fish.

There are 3 very different approaches to Winter. You can swimbait for a giant, finesse fish for consistent action, or power fish with bite triggering retrieves to try and find the best of both worlds. Whichever path you choose, Winter fishing is worse the effort. Its incredibly peaceful, there is minimal boat traffic, and the odds of catching a big bass are very high.

We're Moving! Huge News!! (Not Click Bait)

We’re moving! Clearlake has been an amazing home lake but its time for a change! Where are we headed? Why are we moving? Find out the details! We’ve spent several years scouring the country in search of a new home that would balance family, fishing, and life. It was a very tough decision but we’re thrilled with our choice!

After nearly 25,000 miles on the road over 4 road trips we scratched dozens of places off our list. We narrowed the search down to Tennessee after discovering it had the perfect balance of quality of life for our families and quality of fisheries. After an extensive search we settled on Lake Chickamauga near Chattanooga as our new home lake. We’re thrilled to head out on this new journey and look forward to bringing you along for the ride. We’ll be exploring new waters, learning new techniques, and taking you along for all of it! We can’t wait to pit ourselves against some of the greatest fisheries in the country and break them down with a Tactical perspective.

To the anglers in California, we’ll still see you regularly. We’ve already got trips planned back home and will continue to fish and film on local fisheries on a regular basis. To the angler’s in corners of the country we’ve yet to visit, your turn is coming! Now you know why we’ve been so focused in the midwest. Once we’ve settled into our new homes we’ll get right back on the road to visit a fishery near you!

We're Moving! Huge News!! (Not Click Bait)

We’re moving! Clearlake has been an amazing home lake but its time for a change! Where are we headed? Why are we moving? Find out the details! We’ve spent several years scouring the country in search of a new home that would balance family, fishing, and life. It was a very tough decision but we’re thrilled with our choice!

After nearly 25,000 miles on the road over 4 road trips we scratched dozens of places off our list. We narrowed the search down to Tennessee after discovering it had the perfect balance of quality of life for our families and quality of fisheries. After an extensive search we settled on Lake Chickamauga near Chattanooga as our new home lake. We’re thrilled to head out on this new journey and look forward to bringing you along for the ride. We’ll be exploring new waters, learning new techniques, and taking you along for all of it! We can’t wait to pit ourselves against some of the greatest fisheries in the country and break them down with a Tactical perspective.

To the anglers in California, we’ll still see you regularly. We’ve already got trips planned back home and will continue to fish and film on local fisheries on a regular basis. To the angler’s in corners of the country we’ve yet to visit, your turn is coming! Now you know why we’ve been so focused in the midwest. Once we’ve settled into our new homes we’ll get right back on the road to visit a fishery near you!
