Where Do Bass Go In EARLY Spring? And How To Catch Them Before The PreSpawn!

The Fish are on the move! If your fish haven’t already begun to transition, its coming! If you’re not ready they’ll vanish completely and tracking them down again before the spawn is almost impossible without an understanding of their migration. Where are they headed, where will they stop along the way, and how can you catch them when they do? Come along, and we’ll show you.

Different styles of fisheries progress differently. You need to figure out if you are fishing a river, a Delta, a natural lake, a highland reservoir, or a lowland reservoir. Depending which style you’re on, the movements will vary. Luckily, we’re explaining the movement in each one of these fisheries today. As your fish begin to move, you need to understand their ultimate goal is transition toward spawning flats. With that in mind you can identify the nearest spawning grounds to where your fish have been, then identify the key spots along the way the fish will stop on to feed.

As you’re focusing on fishing the key structures along the migration route there are key baits you should be focusing your time on. Use baits that cover water quickly, have significant drawing power, and can trigger a feed response. Below you’ll find links to all of our favorite options for this transition into the prespawn. All of the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Electronics Tricks To Find More Fish! (Winter Fishing Edition)

Winter fishing can be very challenging but mastering your electronics will make it much easier! If you’re not catching fish you start wondering if they’re even around, if you’re in the right part of the lake, or if its what you’re using. Step one to consistent Winter fishing for any predatory fish (bass, panfish, catfish, etc…) is to locate baitfish. This can be done very quickly with modern electronics and today we’re showing you how to dial them in to maximize your time on the water!

Today Tim is coving a handful of topics including…
– Adjusting Water Level Offset During Winter Pool
-Measuring Distances on Side Imaging
-Waypointing on Side Imaging
-Adjusting Your Side Imaging Display
-Recognizing fish and baitfish on modern electronics

Most boats are equipped with some sort of depth finding/ fishing finding electronics. Some use 2D sonar, others use advanced technologies like side imaging, down imaging, and Live imaging. We all know the important of these electronics but the majority of boat owners and fishermen have no idea how to use these tools effectively. Spending a bit of time to adjust your electronics will absolutely help you catch more fish in Winter.

Below you’ll find links to the exact electronics that we use to maximize our time on the water and catch more fish. We’ve also included more budget-minded products that will still do an awesome job while saving a few dollars. All of the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Sonar Basics: How To Identify Fish (Bass, Panfish, and Baitfish)

Ever wondered if you’re really seeing fish? Which lines and marks are bass? Can you tell the difference between crappie, bluegill, white bass, etc? Which marks are fish and which ones are just stumps or rocks? Come along on the water in real time as we idle through creek channels and flats and identify the different fish we come across with our electronics.

Modern electronics give anglers an incredible advantage over the fish. Even with the most basic units you can now quickly identify active fish, even on a lake you’re unfamiliar with. Of course nicer electronics offer increased sensitivity and functionality but none of that matters until you understand what you’re seeing on the screen. Tim has spent countless hours behind the wheel analyzing fish positioning on structure and today he’s giving you the quick basics you’ll need to go out on the water and confidently locate fish on your own.

Below you’ll find links to the Humminbird Solix 15 Tim was using in the video, along with a variety of other great units. We’ve included some of the best units from different brands but also some amazing “budget” options that will get you on the water, identifying fish with modern technology, without breaking the bank.
