3 Ned Rig Tricks For Winter Fishing!

The Ned Rig is amazing in the Winter Time! Fishing in the cold can be tough, especially if you’re second guessing your lure choice. With new brands piling onto the Ned Rig bandwagon every day, its hard to know which baits to focus on and how to dial them in for cold water fishing. In today’s video Tim explains how to adjust your weight, how to choose the right ned bait, and when to fish these presentations.

On the surface, ned rig fishing is very simple. Grab a ned bait, grab a light jighead, throw it out and try not to move it. As the technique has morphed the last few years so has its ability to catch fish in a variety of conditions. Focusing in on details like the weight of the head, whether or not your bait floats, how much it moves underwater when you shake it, are all key pieces of the puzzle. While the Z Man Finesse TRD remains the gold standard, there are so many other amazing baits that will help you get bit in changing conditions.

5 Finesse Tactics For Fall Bass Fishing

When the Fall Transition gets tough, turning to finesse will save the day. It might even get that big kicker bass you’ve been looking for! Tim is an expert with finesse tactics and today he’s discussing the 5 rigs he turns to when the reaction bite shuts down. Do you have a favorite?

Tim’s 5 rigs include a dropshot, shaky head, ned rig, finesse swimbait, and finesse jig. He leans very strongly to the dropshot but each of these options has a key place in the arsenal. Pay attention to the details of his dropshot rigs including different hooks and baits to achieve different actions. While dropshot fishing isn’t glamorous its incredibly effective in the Fall and is capable of fooling the biggest bass in the school.

Catching GIANT Striped Bass In a NEW Lake!

Come along as Matt and Tim chase big striper! They’re exploring new water in search of these big predatory fish and it doesn’t take long to find them! The guys start out with swimbaits and A-rigs but quickly realize the fish have gone deep. A quick switch to a spoon is all it takes to get the big ones biting!

The key tonight was finding lures that could be fished effectively in deep water. Tim put time into the A-Rig (A proven producer for big striped bass) but the combination of deep water (30-45 feet) and strong current was too much for the rig. A heavy spoon (1 3/4 oz) in bold colors proved to be the best option. Even in the current we were able to hop the spoons as we back drifted. We had a very short bite window before the river currents slowed but we connected with two beautiful Striper before it was over.

We’ve done quite a few videos on spoon for bass and striper in the past. Matt typically leans toward a jigging spoon while Tim prefers a flutter spoon. Both styles are a must-have in an angler’s arsenal and worth learning how to fish effectively. If you’ve missed our previous videos on the subject you can see them here…

How To Find Fish On Any Lake! (Beginner to Advanced Maps and Electronics)

Its easy! You can find fish on ANY lake with these simple tricks! Its all about eliminating water quickly and searching for high percentage water. Come along as we look at the fastest way to find fish with a lake map, then take an in-depth look at how to break down a lake with advanced sonar mapping.

Step one to breaking down any lake is deciding if you want a short term breakdown or an in-depth breakdown. If the goal is short term (day or weekend trip, week long vacation, etc) then the goal is to locate the single spot on the lake that has the highest odds of holding fish and focusing all of your attention in that one area. If your goal is to truly understand a lake (long term, in-depth) we’ll divide the lake into sections and begin building repeatable patterns.

The key to breaking down any lake is quality mapping. Whether you accomplish this with high end electronics, a map card, or a quality paper map, just depends on how much time you want to put in to the project. We’re moving! Clearlake has been an amazing home lake but its time for a change! Where are we headed? Why are we moving? Find out the details! We’ve spent several years scouring the country in search of a new home that would balance family, fishing, and life. It was a very tough decision but we’re thrilled with our choice!

After nearly 25,000 miles on the road over 4 road trips we scratched dozens of places off our list. We narrowed the search down to Tennessee after discovering it had the perfect balance of quality of life for our families and quality of fisheries. After an extensive search we settled on Lake Chickamauga near Chattanooga as our new home lake. We’re thrilled to head out on this new journey and look forward to bringing you along for the ride. We're Moving! Huge News!! (Not Click Bait)

We’re moving! Clearlake has been an amazing home lake but its time for a change! Where are we headed? Why are we moving? Find out the details! We’ve spent several years scouring the country in search of a new home that would balance family, fishing, and life. It was a very tough decision but we’re thrilled with our choice!

After nearly 25,000 miles on the road over 4 road trips we scratched dozens of places off our list. We narrowed the search down to Tennessee after discovering it had the perfect balance of quality of life for our families and quality of fisheries. After an extensive search we settled on Lake Chickamauga near Chattanooga as our new home lake. We’re thrilled to head out on this new journey and look forward to bringing you along for the ride. We’ll be exploring new waters, learning new techniques, and taking you along for all of it!
