Wide Open Winter Bass Fishing! Its A Slugfest!

Come along for a day on the water as we pound the fish while battling the cold! Most anglers think the Winter is tough fishing but it can be amazing! We’re targeting fish with a wide variety of baits but the big ones are eating a tube and a jig on this cold Winter day!

This is a Highland Reservoir with water temperatures in the mid to upper 40’s and water clarity of 5 to 8 feet. We found bass positioned in 20-50 feet of water on outside points and breaks with quick deep water access. At the end of the day we found a bonus pattern with bass in shallow water feeding aggressively around the remnants of a grass mat. We caught fish on a variety of baits today but our best success came on a 5/8 ounce jig with a double tail grub, a 1/2 oz Tube, a blade bait, and a Dark Sleeper. 5 Finesse Tactics For Fall Bass Fishing

When the Fall Transition gets tough, turning to finesse will save the day. It might even get that big kicker bass you’ve been looking for! Tim is an expert with finesse tactics and today he’s discussing the 5 rigs he turns to when the reaction bite shuts down. Do you have a favorite?

Tim’s 5 rigs include a dropshot, shaky head, ned rig, finesse swimbait, and finesse jig. He leans very strongly to the dropshot but each of these options has a key place in the arsenal. Pay attention to the details of his dropshot rigs including different hooks and baits to achieve different actions. While dropshot fishing isn’t glamorous its incredibly effective in the Fall and is capable of fooling the biggest bass in the school.

Sight Casting For GIANT Smallmouth Bass In The Clearest Water You've Ever Seen!

We’ve found water so clear you can see giant bass swimming 50 yards away! We’re sight casting to them like they’re snook on a saltwater flat and its working!!! Come along as Matt and CC stalk big fish with ultralight tackle in the Great Lakes and catch a monster bag the first day! Don’t let clear water and big fish intimidate you, Matt is about to show you everything you need to know to consistently catch these fish!

If you’ve ever been faced with fish in crystal clear water you know they can be very finicky. Knowing how to adapt your gear and lead the fish so they don’t spook is critical. Once you’ve established how much lead you need to put your bait in their line of sight without spooking them, its clock work. Today we did our best work with a tube and a dark sleeper. The fish ambushing around rocks would crush the dark sleeper but fish on the open flats would only eat a tube worked with tiny pops of the rod tip.

The next time you’re faced with clear water conditions, don’t be afraid to try and catch those bass! Use long leaders, make long casts, and don’t be afraid to search for fish where no one else is willing to go. Sight Casting For GIANT Smallmouth Bass In The Clearest Water You've Ever Seen!

We’ve found water so clear you can see giant bass swimming 50 yards away! We’re sight casting to them like they’re snook on a saltwater flat and its working!!! Come along as Matt and CC stalk big fish with ultralight tackle in the Great Lakes and catch a monster bag the first day! Don’t let clear water and big fish intimidate you, Matt is about to show you everything you need to know to consistently catch these fish!

If you’ve ever been faced with fish in crystal clear water you know they can be very finicky. Knowing how to adapt your gear and lead the fish so they don’t spook is critical. Once you’ve established how much lead you need to put your bait in their line of sight without spooking them, its clock work. Today we did our best work with a tube and a dark sleeper. The fish ambushing around rocks would crush the dark sleeper but fish on the open flats would only eat a tube worked with tiny pops of the rod tip.

The next time you’re faced with clear water conditions, don’t be afraid to try and catch those bass! Use long leaders, make long casts, and don’t be afraid to search for fish where no one else is willing to go.
