Buyer's Guide: Best Dropshot Baits and Gear!

Today’s Buyer’s Guide is all about dropshotting! The dropshot is a reliable way to catch bass throughout the year. Paired with the right baits, it can produce big bass as well. We’ve selected a handful of baits for this video that work exceptionally well at different times of year and in different conditions. Come along as we dial in the dropshot.

How To Catch BIG Bass On Ultralight Tackle! Senko And Dropshot!

Battling big bass on ultralight tackle is amazing! Come along for a day on the water as Matt and CC battle big fish with light gear! The water is crystal clear (25+ feet of visibility!!!) and the fish are angry! Learn the tricks they use to build a pattern, get the right bites, and slow play those fish to the boat on tiny hooks and light line.

These Great Lakes smallmouth love to fight! With the incredible water clarity on Lake Michigan, light line is a must. When you hook this big fish on light line, you know a battle is coming! In today’s video Matt and CC use a combination of dropshot, senko, and dark sleeper to build a pattern and catch a huge limit of smallmouth on a place they’ve never even seen before!

Senko and Topwater – Kayak Bass Fishing A Small Backwater Creek

Let’s go fishing! Tim is in a small creek with crystal clear water that dumps into a big murky water lake. He’s targeting post spawn bass with a Senko, popper, dropshot, and swimbait. The bass moved into this creek to spawn but now they’re feeding along the lay downs and overhanging brush before returning to the main lake. Whether you prefer a kayak, a bass boat, or walking the shore bank fishing, you’ll enjoy Tim’s tips on saving money while catching fish.

Tim started the day hoping for a quick reaction bite but it wasn’t in the cards. He quickly switched to a wacky rigged senko and caught a ton of fish! The key here is to understand that he was still on the same water. We often push for the reaction bite but when you have limited areas to fish its best to adapt to the conditions. By giving up the topwater and fast moving baits Tim suddenly found himself surrounded with willing fish. While they weren’t in the mood to chase, the slow falling senko proved more than they could resist.

Come along for an afternoon of uncut bass fishing on Lake Berryessa! We have a mix of prespawn and spawning bass with perfect conditions for a fun afternoon of fishing catching! With the virus causing lock downs, shelter in place orders, and quarantines, a lot of us just need to go fishing and clear our heads. Unfortunately not everyone is able get out right now so Tim headed to the lake and is bringing us along for the action.
