Double Jig Crappie Rig & Hand Tied Hair Jigs (30 day challenge ep.4)

In this 30 day challenge video, I use hand tied hair jigs from fellow Youtube fisherman SK Crappie Catching Adventures. During the late summer on most lakes and rivers in the northern states, bait fish populations have exploded leaving lots of food for crappie, bluegill, perch, bass and other species to chase. Combine this growth in bait fish with a lake that has a high number of muskies chasing crappie and you get crappie holding tight to brush piles all the while being picky eaters. The double jig crappie rig is a great setup when fishing in deeper water, and that is the setup i use to put a few fish in the boat on this trip.

3 ways to rig one slip Bobber for Crappie | How to tie slip float (30 day challenge ep.3)

In this video I demonstrate how to tie a slip bobber with the 3 in 1 bobber from RodnBobbs to catch crappie. In order to tie this rig you will need a few items: size 1 Aberdeen hook, 1/16 oz splitshot weight, and a 3 in 1 balsa bobber / float from RodnBobbs. Fishing a slip float rig with live minnows is a great tactic to catch crappie year round, but it performs very well in the fall. During the summer to fall transition, crappie will start staging on deeper brush piles. They are also found where sand/gravel transitions to mud/muck. Dropping a live minnow suspended from a slip bobber rig is a sure fire way to catch more crappie this fall.

Finesse Swimbaits For GIANT Summer Bass! (Michigan Road Trip)

Come along for a day of fishing for BIG bass with little swimbaits. The guys face brutal conditions (post front and COLD wind in the middle of Summer) but the fish don’t care. The giants start biting right away and with some exploring and fine tuning the guys are able to catch an incredible bag of Summer time Smallmouth!

The guys are out on the road exploring new water. Today they dropped in on unfamiliar lake with a goal of locating big summertime bass. It took no time at all to catch two giant bass but the duo didn’t stop there, they continued to adapt and explore new areas making sure they maximize their time on the water. They used a variety of unique baits and colors to continue getting bit through the wind and changing conditions.

Below is a breakdown of the baits the guys were using. We included sizes, weights, and colors since they differed from some of our typical offerings. We’ve found on multiple occasions that these brighter, bolder colors work exceptionally well on smallmouth, especially in the wind. In addition to the baits we’ve included links to the exact gear as well as a few budget offerings. The links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Awesome Bank Fishing With 3 Tips To Catch More Bass While Pond Fishing

Tim got access to an awesome pond! He’s walking the shore with son JD and friend Caleb and they’re catching nice bass! Come along for really good fishing with a glide bait, small swimbait, senko, and more. Fishing from shore allows you to fish unique angles that boats can’t reach. Tim has a few tips that will make it even easier the next time you’re on the bank.

Tim starts off fishing with an S-Waver. The idea being that glide baits have incredible drawing power, pulling fish up from great distances. Best case scenario, you’ll catch a giant, but even if you don’t you’re likely to see what is lurking in the depths as they come up to examine the bait. Tim’s next trick is to focus on smaller swimbaits in bluegill and panfish colors.

While every pond’s ecosystem is different, almost all of them contain panfish. You simply can’t go wrong with a bluegill imitator. You may find that white or flashy colors will work but unlike most large bodies of water, its always smart to start with bluegill imitators rather than shad imitators. When Tim switches to the senko he shares his 3rd trick for maximizing his time on the water.
When shore fishing its often important to make long casts to maximize your fishing area. At the end of a long cast it can be really difficult to detect bites, especially with weightless presentations. Tim recommends switching your finesse rod to “high visibility” (Neon) line so that you can see the bites instead of feeling them.

Pond fishing is often overlooked and with the current shelter in place around the country, its more likely than ever that you’re pond hopping to catch a bass. Use these tips the next time you do and you’ll be surprised by the results. Below is a breakdown of all the baits (in order of appearance) as well as Tim’s top 3 Pond Fishing/Bank Fishing combos.

This RIVER was LOADED with CRAPPIE! (Brazos River, Texas) pt 3

Check out the Piscifun Honor XT http://bit.ly/390mTvc

This video shows the afternoon fishing trip with myself and Ken from HookCityTV. We used the Garmin Livescope to find crappie submerged brush piles and large rock piles while trying to catch the largest fish in the school. Our Crappie setup consisted of the 12ft ACC Crappie Stix jig rod, 1000 size reels, and 2 inch swimbaits. I was setting the hook on so many crappie that when I switched hands to adjust the livescope, I set the hook on the livescope!

What do Crappie eat in Cold, Dirty Water (COLOR CHALLENGE) | Crappie Fishing Lake of the Ozarks

This video explains what type of plastic lure crappie will eat, also how and where to find crappie during the early spring (pre-spawn) phase of the season. Kyler Beckmann and Davis Lenzen (Flopping Crappie) spider rig for early spring crappie on Lake of Ozarks. After a few hours they determined that Chartreuse and Milk color patterns were working the best of all the baits used that day, so they decided to put the best baits to the test in a head-to-head color challenge. They use 1/4oz. jig heads tipped with 2 inch and 3 inch shad profile crappie plastics. They learned that both colors can catch fish, however bait profile is the more important. During this time of year, water temps are below 40 degrees. This causes shad (bait fish) to become lethargic, which makes an easy meal for a crappie. Mimicking the shad profile will help an angler catch more crappie throughout a day on the water.
